A good way to judge between the 2 is if you work on the car yourself, and your level of mechanical ability.
I recently got a 240 (non turbo- same engine as 940's) and really like it. The engine is pretty simple and I feel comfortable with most of what goes on under the hood. While I was looking for cars, I did see a few turbo's- but the engine is just a little more complicated and takes a little more care.
If you like working on cars and have a high level of mechanical ability, you can feel comfortable with a turbo. If you want to start working up your mechanical ability (certainly worthwhile) then go for a non standard, as it's a little simpler.
Happy hunting!
