122 ignition switch 120-130 1966

I really think you may need another mechanic. Old cars are a speciality and you need the right person for this....maybe even some old tinkerer who has been keeping beaters running for years. I do my own work so I don't really know how you find this mythical "good" mechanic, but I know they exist. BTW as Ron says, you don't change a fuse and figure you fixed the problem....sure sometimes (rarely) that;s all it takes, but by the time you had wires burning in your car it should be clear your mech is a little out of his depth.
