Shafted... 120-130 1967

"I do not have a thin drift and even if I did I am not quite sure how I would reach the cap with it. Running out of ideas but thanks again for your help."

If you've got the opposing cups out as far as you can, you can push the cross into one side to make more room for the drift on the opposite side. I confess to using an old, small but sturdy screwdriver last time I did it that way. Didn't have a vice either, just had it resting on the ground on a couple of house bricks. Not ideal but it worked. Last time I did use a vice but you can still only tap the cups out the same distance before using your preferred gripping tool. Vice had rather worn jaws so I used a small Stillson (pipe) wrench.
