Check compression,has this rebuilt 1800 run well on a different set of carbs?Do you have a different set of carbs you could install for test purposes just to make sure that the ignition and timing are correct? it sounds like you may have a bad vacuum leak,could be the rear carb is running way out of adjustment,check float and base settings,the base setting for the rear carb may need to be leaned up and then brought back down.I think it is good to have a couple of sets of spark plugs on hand because it is easy to flood them out and that can throw you off.What was wrong with the old dist.?
