no luck w/ cleaning stuff 700 1991

i didnt have any luck w/ the coil or the bad connections. I have it scheduled later this week w/ a local mechanic. the car went 14 miles this morning before dying,quick re-start, 10 miles,1mile, and it died again 7 miles later. the tach stays at the same place it was when it died until I shift to netural & it then falls to zero. I appreciate everyones input, this has got to be the most frustrating thing I have ever had happen with a automobile. Any more suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
