Do you have an indicator light wired in?

If so, does it stay on during the drop outs, or go off when the drop outs happen?

This will tell us if it's faulty wiring or indeed a problem with the OD it self. (The power for the indicator light is usually hooked up in parallel with power to the OD it self, so if power to the OD is interrupted, the light would go out as well.)
