low power 1987 240 newb needs help

Thank you Art, Tony, and Hardknocks. Since no one seems to think it likely that the belt jumped, I'll save myself the trouble of pulling the balance pulley until I've ruled out other things. I have a spare AMM hose and I'll replace that tonight, and see if I can shake the converter around a little.

The Haynes manual describes correct voltages for testing the TPS with it connected, but I haven't figured out how to do that, since the connector plug covers the terminals completely well before they make contact. I guess I could jam some wire in there or something . . . .

I'll repost after I have a change to change some things tonight. Thanks again for the responses.
