Cheap easy solution 200 1993

The battery tray on my 86 (metal one) was in sad condition and the hold down rusted off. Having that positive terminal that close to the fender and loose just seemed like a bad idea so went looking for a fix. Everything at the PUP was in worse shape than Inga's tray.

Went with a new universal battery tray and hold down. Used one from Auto Zone but any chain store will carry some version of it.

This one had several slots precut in the tray. Ended up having to drill one hole, the existing slots lined up with the other three bolt holes. The hold down hooks into the both sides of the battery tray. Two wing nuts hold a clamp across the battery.

Cost less than $20 for everything and it took 30 minutes to install it.

Not stock Volvo, but sure was an easy cheap solution vs having the battery loose under the hood.

Regards,

Paul
