is there any way to actually test the evap valve? If I blow hard into it, i can get a little air to pass through (Like when you have a really plugged up filter).

If I blow into the hose (engine off) that leads from the evap valve to the canister/gas tank, it the air flows freely. Is the valve on the canister open when the car is off?

Aside from that, I'm going to replace the hoses under there. All the bends look pretty rotten an crusty. Especially the ones on the canister under the car. They've obviously seen 12 years of road grime, road salt, heat, and leaked fluids.
