HS 6 question 140-160

Bought a SU HS 6 rebuild kit. Turned out it is for a P1800 and comes with the ZH, not the KN needle.

OK, so I thought I'd try that profile in my 69 144s anyhow.

This ZH needle is 1/4 shorter. Is this going to be a problem? I am wondering if I need to swap the jet to one for the P1800?

Also, it has no spring-loaded collar like my KN needle has to anchor it into the damper piston.

It looks like this collar is a press fit. Can I just prise it off and press it onto the new needle?
