I had Goodyear replace the u-joints and check the center support bearing. The rear u-joint was totally fried and missing some bearings from one of the end caps. I could tell it was bad. I suspected the other two u-joints were chattering and Goodyear confirmed this. I had them install replacement u-joints that had grease fittings. My bill was $330 plus tax.
Driveshaft noise and vibration problem appears to be resolved.
Next on the agenda is to replace the rear shocks. Not sure if I can do the front struts myself or not.
After that, possibly the in-tank fuel pump.
