You should call the dealer.This recently happened to a friends car.Engine stalled,lots of smoke from under the hood.Rough,high-mileage car,towed to dealer on advice of ex-dealer tech.Repaired at no charge except for towing.

I would re-attach crispy cables to car(not to battery).

Post back with dealer reply.If they give you any grief,call Volvo North America.
