neg ground to engine 700 1988

howdy Bill,

Cables off and cut in half/disintergrated to aide in removal through the clamps since I was unable to get all rubber coated wire clamps off. Phillips screws and tough to get lots of leverage on the screw driver.

I also Googled Volvo recalls for my car 88 740gle wagon b230f 8 valve and didn't see a recall for the battery cables.

Had great time trying get at the neg ground at bottom of engine on the ...I think motor mount base. Of course it was on the bolt towards the front of the engine where one can't get a wrench in.

Good thing I bought cheapo aftermarket 2 guage replacement that was 4 to 6 inchs longer then OEM.

Just changed the bolt on the motor mount base to attach it to.

Only problem is that aftermarket neg cable doesn't have the 2nd frame ground wire.....had to cut the old terminal off the old blue wire as high as possible to save the length since not a lot of slack. I had to temporarily put up bare end against battery post and clamp new terminal over wire ends.

Real temp. solution.

I tried to find other machine screws around the house to try and use other closer holes in the frame near the battery....no luck.

Who would I bring old cable too to get crimps put on so I could attach the end to the terminal bolt and about how much would it cost?

Thanks much
