Scorron, thanks for your reply, but talk about discouraging!

What bugs me is that there was a noticeable difference in pedal "feel" (softer) as soon as I got done with the bleeding. Other than the time I got calipers from NAPA which were assembled ass-backwards, that was the only time I can recall that the brakes were worse for my effort.

I'll talk to some mechanics I trust and try to get a consensus then report back.
