Dead Speedometer Question 700 1992

Finally got up under the wagon. The thin naked wire was broken away and when I unplugged the sensor on the axle I found the wires were twisted a lot. The red/brown wire had a crack in it and I believe it was rubbing on the naked wire intermittently. I had a spare plug from the pick/pull for my coolant temperature gauge and I used it ith the longer wires to splice in. Placed silicone on the caps and she works. Hope this was the problem.
