The shifter comes out of the Mustang T5 in exactly the right spot for the rear shifter position on late 140/240 cars. I really couldn't say that the S10 trans will move the stick forward enough to work in the wobble shift position, but I'd tend to doubt it. But I don't think it would be *too* far off.

The T5's sit about an inch or so further back from the bellhousing because of the adapter plate/longer pilot shaft.
But then again the Chevy T5's have different bolt patterns and shorter input shafts, there's a guy on TB that makes converted bellhousings for Chevy T5's and it puts the trans an inch further forward, so perhaps the S10 trans would at least be clsoer? I'm still (just utter guess) thinking it's not going to work as is, might need to cut out a rectangle with the shifter hole offset, flip it around, and weld it back in.
My 245 has a 3.73 rear axle and a .68 5th gear, it's around 2100 rpm at 55 mph, 3000 at 80 (more or less). Very tall gear, I can't really use it very well unless I'm going at least 60, 65, and it's happier at 70, 75. Turbo motor that doesn't get a lot of power at lower rpms, and it can't come close to pulling hills in 5th at lower rpms, although it does it with ease at closer to 3000 rpm.
