Fwiw, I have had a Magellan Maestro for about 4 years; it shows your speed if you are NOT enroute to an address you have entered. Interestingly, the speed shown always corresponds EXACTLY to that shown by the electronic speedo in my '91 740, which I guess is sort of an endorsement as to the accuracy of Volvo speedos...when they work.
