I've done something similar- not sure about that specific part number. I got a sensor for a V8 Mustang from Autozone. From what I have heard, all 3-wire sensors are equivalent, the connector changes. I soldered the splices and used heat shrink tubing on them. I think I would definitely solder as opposed to using crimp connectors or something else.
