Intermittent No Start -SOLVED - Crank Position Sensor was bad 700 1991

Thanks to all of the patient, forgiving folks who contributed to the challenge of my PITA intermittent no start problem. (Goatman, Aleekat, lucid, Will740turbo, fixit2002, mmal231294 and everyone else!)

I received the new sensor from FCP Groton. Pulled out the current CPS - outer insulation was pretty thoroughly cracked off but the inner wires looked well insulated - until I got right down to the sensor. Sure enough the inner insulation was degraded just like a pre-88 Volvo wiring harness. The two wires were both exposed and it is amazing the car was actually running at the time.

Since I am too busy to do much service to those who are in need on this board I am gonna make a financial contribution. I am as committed to my old Volvos as I am my body parts... and therefore I will always need this resource.

You guys are great!

Jack
