Not that weird - its in the 700 FAQ. In my case, it was the high beams - bad ground.

When I started having issues with our 225k mile '90 744, a tech gave me a tube of dielectric grease and told me to clean and grease all connectors, zip tie together any that can be done,

I did one a week, that way, if I had a problem, I knew where to look. We took that car to 300k.
