Lost Battery Cap - replacement options?

The Costco battery has two caps, each covers three cells. I lost one. Kragen says no way you can buy a replacement cap and they can't give me one off an old battery. I don't want to make the trip to the junk yard. Can I just put some duct tape over the holes, perhaps leaving a little room for gas to vent?
Any other suggestions for a substitute "cap"?

[fyi, these are the "caps" over the cells, where the water goes in. Not the covers over the terminals]
