If as you say, the engine began running rough suddenly, then it won't be a burned valve. It may be a chunk of carbon sitting on a valve seat and holding the valve open, or, rarely, the valve seat insert in the head has come loose. That's common on some engines, not on these AFAIK.
Regardless I'd investigate a bit more before yanking the head ( a nasty job ).
