This might give you some ideas. Here's what I've done with mine:



If you want to use the original bendix radio, you might need to recap the thing. It could be converted to do AM stereo, and you could install an inline AM stereo modulator through the antenna input. Chris Cuff used to make the needed parts and kits to do this, google search his name and "AM stereo"

I converted another Volvo radio to do AM stereo a few years back, I'll find that link and post it in a bit. It wasn't that hard to do.
