Hello,

I was waiting for someone to mention turning on your AC to defog that windshield. I live near the Texas coast and on cold humid mornings (and we have had several this month), the inside of my 86 245 fogs up like a son of a gun. When my AC was out I used to carry towels in the passengers seat to wipe down the windows the mornings that happened and it was a chore to keep them clear. I bet that is what you are having to do up there in that cool humid Portland air.

I do not have a coolant leak and have my vents hooked up correctly but she will still fog up completely some mornings. The fix is to first close the two center vents off, push both the recirculate and defrost button and crank on the AC (think you just hit the blue switch)to turn on the AC compressor. That will but the max air on the upper section and the AC will dehumidify the air and clear off your windshield. It may take a couple of seconds but you will see a clear spot form and spread outwards and upwards. You can add heat if the air its cold to help dry things off and warm things up. But just a little AC to dry the air out is all it takes to clear things up.
