"The Bosch Super W7BC plugs I just removed were all gapped 0.040.
The new NGK BP6HS plugs I just bought are all gapped 0.025 right out of the box."

All well and good, but if you ask Mr. Bosch or Mr. NGK what they should be gapped for your car, they will both most likely advise you to stick with the vehicle manufacturer's recommendation.
