I haven't checked out these numbers but the early MC's had a normal filler cap but the later ones had a cap with a fitting for the remote pot and pipe. Most early ones will have been converted to the remote pot as the early ones were hard to fill and you had no visual on the contents. I think the later remote type cab is a direct fit on the early type. Maybe these 2 numbers are for the 2 types.
