checking front wheel bearings

thanks for the responses. There is movement at basically every combination, and it doesn't look like there is any play happening in the ball joints or tie rods when I'm getting this shake, so that seems to point to bearings. I've read the various postings and have a sense about tightening, though there seems to be difference of opinion about using a torque value and then loosening back off, vs. just tightening by hand to the desire play.

In terms of just tightening and not replacing them, will I need to pull the calipers and rotors off to do this, and do all 240s use a 24mm nut (I don't have wrench that size)? Should I repack grease in there while I'm at it?

thanks
