Locking system 200 1989

A couple of suggestions. Wire colours and Fuse ID are based on the central locking wiring diagrams for our 81 and 83. Those years are identical, but not necessarily for your 89.

Anyway...power to both the lock and unlock relays - located just below your central dash vents - is on a Green wire from fuse #8. On our cars this fuse also feeds the interior, trunk, and glovebox lights and the clock. There may be a connector on this wire that you pulled apart. Secondly, the harness from the driver's door key and knob switches has a connector above your left knee behind the felt pad, containing three wires: Black, Green and Red. Locks won't operate with this disconnected.

Bob: son's 81-GL, dtr's '94-940, my 83-DL, 89-745(V8) and 98-S90. Also 77-MGB and some old motorcycles.
