Steering u-joint difference 700

Just thought I'd post how I managed to get the upper u-joint clamp to slide onto the steering shaft. I was expecting it to slide on as easily as it slid off when I dropped the rack. However, when I installed the u-joint on the spline of the "new" rack I did have to hammer it a bit in spite of cleaning out the splines and greasing it. So, I took a file and chamfered the upper u-joint double-d opening in case I had burred it and I also opened it up a bit by screwing a bolt into it from the threaded side with a screwdriver blade in the slot. Also, when I was previously trying to get the rack up in position I had the RH end of it held up in position with a screwdriver through the holes. Maybe this was restraining the rack from moving enough sideways to line up the u-joint, so this time I had it resting on some wood blocks about an inch below the proper height so it could move sideways. Eureka! Should be plain sailing from here on.
