The most divorced Overdrive I've been involved with was attached to an electric motor drivng a motorcycle.

The guy was good and ended up with a tire smoking two speed cycle with a top speed (his statement) of 155. Range near 400 miles per charge.

He was working on longer range with differnet battery types whern I last talked with him.
