Unlike the USA, Euro checking stations do not allow any dripping fluids, rust anywhere, no dents in th4e sheet metal, and the brakes flawless. Needless to say, if you want to register a 122 or any other car in Europe, it needs to be in very good running order. Age doesn't matter.
The Swedish testers put the car on a lift and poke the bottom sheet metal looking for rust that might be covered up. If the USA had such standards, half of the cars would no longer be on the road.
