The values may be rising but what cars are offered for and what they sell for are two different things!
Any mods you do other than perhaps adding an overdrive will probably NOT result in a higher selling price.
What you do to make it look clean, pristine and relatively original will pay MODEST dividends. By all means wash it and clean the engine compartment!!
