My daughter had the Check Engine light come on today in her 1995 940 B230F. It is a Bosch system. The code read out a 1-2-3 "Signal missing to/from coolant temp. sensor". I reset the computer and didn't see the Check Engine light come on again but know that it most likely will. I plan on cleaning the connector and seeing what happens. I have several junkers, an 89 Bosch B230, and a three Regina systems (90, 91, and another 91). Is there a difference in the ECT sensors between The Bosch and Regina?
The car has been sitting for almost two years with a full tank of gas (and ethanol unfortunately) with stabilizer and has 108K on it. This probably has no cause of the above problem but another problem is that the gas gauge is sticky. I have replaced the little metal sliders in the fuel level sensor on another car which also was sticky and had sat for awhile. So, another question is, can the residue from old gas cause the sticky fuel level sensor? The car with the problems has been driven only a few miles home and parked almost two years ago. It is a cream puff (we hope) to be used when her 93 and 94 940s die.
Thank you.
Glen
