Code 2-3-2 200 1992

I had this code come up a few weeks ago, and after reading through many of the posts, figured that it was likely the result of a significant exhaust leak at the base of my downpipe - two holes each about an inch in diameter. That issue has been fixed with a completely new exhaust from manifold back - new gaskets everything. I also put in a K&N filter and removed the pre-heat hose from the airbox because it had long since fallen off the rusted out heat shield and had deteriorated to the point where it was only about 1.5 ft long. For the first several days the car was driving really well without issue. But just in the last day or two I'm getting a rough idle and the car wants to die when I come to a stop sign or slow to a near stop from high speeds. I checked the codes and the 2-3-2 is back. I think there may be a small exhaust leak again ahead of the O2 sensor, but it's been difficult to detect, and it would be a surprise given the brand new kit unless a clamp needs tightening or a gasket is slightly skewed or something - I didn't do the install myself. I haven't had a chance to fully inspect, I"m just going off my ear here. Assuming it is not an exhaust issue, what are other possible culprits? Could this be a result of removing the pre-heat hose? The K&N filter?
