Aside from the vents not remaining open on acceleration (Turbo Boost), which I have come to accept, I find there is a pressure leake right at the location where the long aluminum/rubber hose runs from the evaporator?air dryer in front of the fire wall on the passenger side all the way over to the compressor in the opposite corner of the engine compartment. Where the hose passes by the lower edge of the compressor it is held secure by a clip. It also is the point where the rubber transitions to aluminum. Right there is a hissing that is changed when I put my hand over it, so I know there is a leak.
Before I tackle the problem, I would like some advice.
It appears it will be necessary to remove the alternator to gain access to the rear of the compressor where the hose finally is secured into the compressor pump. Again, I'm guessing, but my guess is that I have to disconnect the line at that point and replace the entire length as a single unit right back to the dryer at the passenger fire wall. It would be terrific, if I could just undo the clamp holding the line to the pump and repair it with an suitable epoxy or some other kind of over covering sealant.
All thoughts gratefully received.

BTW. I'm almost sure this problem was caused by a mechanic in the past few weeks, either the one who replaced the steering rack or the one who worked on the ball joints. The leaking spot is right in the same area and I could imagine some moron grabbing the line or slipping a wrench and disturbing what might have been an already vulnerable spot ... or not. As often seems to be the case when I bring my car car to the local or even the dealer mechanic, the solution creates other problems. This is why I am doing more and more of my own work.
