Broken Plug 200 1978

When his plug broke off, it came out with the ceramic core so it is wide open and will vent. If I understand correctly, this is a K-Jet car, so no connector to unplug on the injector only a high pressure fuel line from the fuel distributor. The fuel line would have to be disconnected and plugged.

I have made a few assumptions on this one, the plug broke off below the hex nut because it was either cross threaded during the install, or it was a black anodized AC Delco plug (which rusts) without anti-seize. The plug broke in half for a reason, the threads are stuck beyond imagination.

The only option is to pull the head and take it to a machine shop. A final note, if you use AC Delco black anodized plugs slather the threads in anti-seize during the install. I put a dab of anti-seize on four of these pathetic plugs and put them in the head, no cross threading. Two of them came out just fine but a little stiff, the other two were highly reluctant and I had to re-chase the threads in the head afterwards.
