Converting to 5 spd. 200

I have had three M47s and two M46s in my 1990 245.

With out boring you with all the details, the M47, as stated, does not hold up as well. DO make sure you over fill it.

One data point, which really surprised me, was a good 3-5 mpg increase with the actual 5 speed (m47).

While you are swapping everything around, make sure the universal joints are ok and purchase a new puck, the rubber bit that replaces the front universal joint.

Good luck!
