Disk brake question 444-544 1959

Hi all -
now that my front end is rebushed and I have snazzy big tires, I can tell it'd be nice to have disks up front. The drums are all in good shape, just don't quite hold up with a madman behind the wheel.

I found two conflicting articles:
http://www.bearmanmotorsports.com/page4.html
http://www.pv-klubben.org/PV-Entusiasten/e_2_99_discs.htm
The first says, basically, "get single circuit 122S brakes and try it out"
The second says, with greater detail, "not so fast, chucklehead"

Specifically -
with the 59 single circuit master, do I have to remove "The reverse valve in the brake master cylinder"? If so, how?
will the stock 59 rear brakes be okay, or will I need a prop valve?

I was planning to get the rotors, calipers, lines, brackets from a donor, but not the master or prop valve(s). If those parts (or rear brakes) are necessary, I may just decide to live with the drums... my all-drum 67 Buick needs disks more anyway, haha.
