Hi Kent,
For sure DOT 5 is a different animal and is great in wet conditions. My comment was merely about the 3-4 being much the same except for boiling point, both being hydrophilic as you say.
Well for condensation you should try the west coast of Canada - it ain't safe for small dogs and children when it rains!
