electronic ignition 120-130 1966

Hello,

Installation of the components into the distributor is usually simple.

Wiring can be little more difficult with the original coil with shielded power wire.

All electronic ignitions require power while cranking which is not directly available from the ignition switch with the stock coil assembly.

If you are lucky and the starter has been replaced, you might have the updated starter solenoid which has a pole that only gets power when the starter is cranking.

You can jumper the power wire from a switched circuit on the fuse box to terminal #16 from the starter solenoid which will then provide power to the electronic ignition while cranking.

If you do not have the updated starter solenoid, then you will have to jumper to the switched circuit with the use of a diode and power from terminal #50 on the stater solenoid.

If you do not use a diode with terminal #50, the starter will come on as soon as you turn the key to the "ON" position.
