If you are getting vacuum at the flame trap, it is likely being routed to the crankcase from the intake manifold...so I expect you have a hose from the intake to the crankcase (probably by way of the oil filler cap). Please confirm this.
There are variations...read about PCV systems on B18 vs B20: http://www.sw-em.com/pcv_diagrams.htm

...then build up yours to one of the variations shown.
