Is this car new to you?
We had a '90 744 TI that ran pretty well until one day, after two years of happy driving, it stopped accelerating properly.
We found - one of the turbo hoses was patched neatly, but the patch had failed - the electric fan was frozen, the thermostat was jammed open to help with the cooling - one of the sensors involved with cold starts was doctored to fool the computer - and ...
The foam dampening coating in the air cleaned had turned to dust and blocked the air cleaner!
Now - you may not have any of these problems, but be wary that your car may have been doctored up for sale.
