wiper fuse blows after fixing parking function 200 1991

Tony and Art,

Thanks for the responses. I think I am going to check whether or not I disturbed something in the cleaning and reassembly process. Seeing the pictures in your notes, I know that the white wheel and the three prong-type things have been disturbed and are not matching up. (Art, the white wheel on the motor reminds me of the ODO repair you helped me with!)

You both have given me some ways to pursue this repair.

A couple of more questions: 1) how do you line up the wheel with the prongs to ensure that they are in the right position? 2) is it normal for the fuse to blow in the first ignition position or should it blow in the second position when the dash lights come on and the wiper stalk can be activated?

Thanks,
George
