Does the title and the VIN (stamped into the body of the car) agree? That's all that matters.
You can go to vlvworld.com and get production information. You car is a '68 production model (VIN starting 61800 and the "P" is a '68). You may have a car that was imported into the US in '67. Does it have the collapsible steering column?
I have a '60 P210(based on the production numbers) that is titled as a '61, and a '66 P120 titled as a '67. It was common in the sixies to title the year of the car when it was sold. Who wants to buy a new '66 in 1967? The dealers can't get away with it now.
