140/160 front subframe question 140-160

Both used pretty much the same front suspension except for the upper A-frame bushings and front springs. There was an upgrade in both in about 1970 where the ball joints, etc were sturdier and the LOWER A-frame bushings were made sturdier (also meaning different lower A-frames).
If you are going to trade parts I suggest you stick to 1972 or later. If you use 164 front springs on a 140 the front will be VERY high because the B30 engine in the 164 is quite a bit heavier.
As far as whether the front crossmember is the same p/n, you'd better go to a site that has the complete parts book, such as gcp.se
