There were several varieties of 140 consoles. The more common one is that for the long shifter or automatic cars, pre-1972. I have one of the earlier style that does not have the hole cut out for the shifter, but the hole location is marked on the bottom side of the console, so would be appropriate for an automatic car. The 72-style has the hole in the proper place for the short shifter, and the console is shaped slightly different. That one will also work on a manual box 164 if the small glove box is removed from the trans tunnel.
