I don't regret anything. So far, I put about $4,000 into the car and mechanically it is great. The car runs well, and I drove it to the welding shop. I have aquired all the missing rare parts. I am not going to sell this car in the end, but drive it.
As for the current welding job, the floor will be structurally sound. All I will need to do then is replace the rear fenders, the side sills, door bottoms and the truck. I have all the parts lined up. Otherwise the car is in good condition. I will do the paint prep and my uncle is going to paint the car in his professional booth.
All that is then left is interior and all new seals. My door panels, and the vinyl on the seats are good. VP Autoparts has raw fabric for me.
If I hit $15,000 in the end, it will still be worth it to me. I could stop now, and just drive the car, and it would function the same as a restored car, but I don't mind working on a project. From what I have learned, this project was definetly worth it.
Side note: I am only 22 years old, I work 3 part-time jobs for a total of $8,000 a year, and I am full-time college student. When I start a real job, I will have the money to finish everything.
Thank you for your suggestions and opinions, but I am going to finish this project. Check out my photogallery: http://gallery.me.com/luke.ball#100040 Thanks again for your suggestions; I like to know what others think.
