I once used some Permagasket Formagasket as a precaution to seal the intake gasket on my Gremlin.

About two weeks later, the car ran really poorly.

I found that the intake vacuum had sucked a portion of the gasket in and created a massive intake manifold leak.

This was a metal and fiber sandwich gasket!

I would not add anything.
