Hi All,
I've been working on my volvo 244 DL for the past few days trying to analyze a problem where the car would start but stall out either from idle or from revving the engine.
After several things, I've unplugged the wire harness from the AMM thus forcing the ECU into limp home mode. The car now does run and idle. I had done the ohmmeter test on the AMM and it was in nominal range.
So my question is, how can I tell if it is the ECU or the AMM that is causing the issue? Since both are rather pricey I want to make sure I've got it narrowed down correctly.
Thanks in advance.
Things I've done leading up to this point: replaced sparks, wireset, dist. cap and rotor, air filter. Did ohmmeter tests on AMM and air control valve (both passed) Did ohmmeter tests on each fuel injector (all passed.) Cleaned and changed seals on the injectors. Checked fuel pump relay.
