Neutral lockout switch on BW 35 140-160 1972

Hello,

With the aid of an assistant, check the 2 starter wires at the neutral safety switch for 12 volts when attempting to start.

Make sure the car is in park and the parking brake is engaged and the assistant can step on the brake pedal as well while testing.

If there is power to both sides of the neutral safety switch then check the starter relay.

And then check the cables and connections at the starter motor.

If okay, you might have a bad starter motor

Do you know how to trigger the starter motor right at the starter?

Make sure the car is in park and the parking brake is set and if possible chock at least 1 wheel.

Most auto parts stores have a starter button with 2 leads.

1 lead is for the positive batter source and the other lead is for the starter trigger terminal on the starter solenoid.
